It is heavy and puts a strong cantilever load on your arms when extended, but works fine in conjunction with a conventional trimmer used on the lower branches. It reaches where I can't. However, it can jam easily. Don't force it. And if it jams, give it a short while to cool off. It comes back to life. Even with the jamming problem, I think it's a must-have for large shrubs.
